Yandex, the largest Russian search engine with almost 60% market share (and seventh-largest internet search engine worldwide) just announced that they came to an agreement with Twitter, which allows them to display real-time Twitter data in its search results. Users will also be able to search by usernames and hashtags.
They obtained a license for the full feed of all public tweets in all languages, but obviously they’ll have a focus on the tweets of Russian, Belarusian, Kazakh and Ukrainian Twitter accounts, covering a total of 2M users.
